Flamingos Sunk by Pandas
|
The Montana Pandas defeated the Las Vegas Flamingos, 4-1, in United States Silver League action at Panda Park. Montana pitcher Rock DeVote had a standout performance. Montana reliever Rock DeVote got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Gilberto Malfeito was tagged with the loss. Truman Coleman was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Montana right fielder Ernesto Vázquez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Pandas ahead, 3-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Vázquez said after the game.
The Pandas, now 3-13, have not found much traction so far in 2063.
