Led by Rubén Franco, the Eugene Vandals downed the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 5-3. Franco went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Vandals. The winning pitcher was Byron Combs. Eugene used the timely hitting of Wen-huan Tan to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Vandals on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Franco.
