Blaze Walk It Off for 18th Win of Season
|
Han-soo Yang pitched a gem to lead South Beach to victory over the Eugene Vandals, 4-1, in 10 innings. The win was credited to 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ron Pitts in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Kent Church took the loss. The slumping Vandals have dropped 6 in a row.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for South Beach. That's when Micheal Ball hit a 3-run home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Kent Church to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ball, "one at-bat at a time."
