The South Beach Blaze faced a tough opponent in Lake Erie pitcher Jorge Toledo, but found a way to pull out the victory at The Ballpark on the Beach by a final score of 4-3 in 12 innings. Toledo went 7.2 innings and allowed no runs. The win belonged to John Sanders in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tim Scott took the loss for Lake Erie. By defeating Lake Erie, the third-place Blaze improved to 14-12.

The Blaze relied on designated hitter Gerard Daniel for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Daniel.
