Malfeito Leads Las Vegas to 3-1 Win
Las Vegas and Detroit played a hard-fought contest.

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Las Vegas Flamingos and the Detroit Rock City. Las Vegas won it, 3-1. Las Vegas starter Gilberto Malfeito was in command. Rafael Trujillo closed it out for Las Vegas, earning his 1st save.

Malfeito was in the zone all game. He frustrated Detroit hitters while giving the Flamingos 7.1 innings of quality work. Malfeito threw 97 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 9 punchouts.

"Gilberto has got a slow heartbeat," said Las Vegas manager Tom Williams. "He doesn't panic or anything."

For the Rock City, the loss makes their record 5-11.
