Baltimore Bullets starter Kevin Brown turned in an exceptional performance against the Kingston Township Knights at Baltimore Grounds, resulting in a Baltimore win, 10-2. Brown went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-1. Raúl Abreu collected his 1st save.
Carlos Vélez dealt the Knights a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Baltimore leading 1-0, Vélez, who leads the SL in triples with 3, hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run triple.
"Enjoyed this one," Vélez told the Baltimore Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
For Kingston Township, now 2-14, the season is off to a dismal start.
