Cut Off Nets 4-3 Win Versus Tula
|
The Cut Off Crawdads took Chicago pitcher Kip Hill's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Crawdads Field. The final score had Cut Off getting past the Tula, 4-3. Hill went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. Cut Off reliever Woody Lee picked up the win to move to 1-1. José Tapia suffered the loss. Bruce Cunningham earned the save for Cut Off, his 4th of the year.
Martin Watson, who is tied for 3rd in the PA in triples with 1, chipped in a solo home run for Cut Off in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"I like what I saw today," said Cut Off manager Miguel Aguilar, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The victory gives Cut Off a record of 14-14.
