Skidding Vandals Lose 8th Straight
|
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Maru Kobayashi, who is rated as the 25th best prospect by BNN, led the Cut Off Crawdads to a win over the Eugene Vandals, 6-4. Anthony Bailey finished the game for Cut Off and earned his 6th save. The last-place Vandals have lost 8 straight games.
Had Kobayashi not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Kobayashi hit a 2-run single. The Crawdads took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
"Bad luck's the only luck we've had," said Eugene manager José Cervantes.
