Rogues Get Extra-Inning, 5-4 Win
|
The Newmarket Rogues turned back the Kennesaw Jets, 5-4, at Jets Stadium. Hamilton Young, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Newmarket, now 14-14, holds down 5th place in the Premier A.
Young had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch forkball from Adam Shirley, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Rogues a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Young.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Young told the Newmarket Daily News.
