Led by Joe Saunders, the Hollywood Shredders downed the Boston Patriots, 7-5. Saunders was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Shredders. Yoshitaka Shinohara got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Skip Lewis got credit for the save for Hollywood. It was his 3rd of the year.

Saunders had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 slider from Iiri Lahti, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Shredders a 7-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Saunders.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Saunders told the Hollywood Daily.

With the loss, Boston falls to 7-6.
