Liberty U-24 Squelch Rogues Offense in Shutout Win
|
Philadelphia turned a fine outing from starter Bryan Miller into a victory over the Newmarket Rogues at Liberty Youth Field. The final score was 4-0. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Martín Machado. The win elevated the Liberty U-24 to 17-14.
Mark McCartney, who leads the PA in bases on balls with 21, contributed to the Philadelphia win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Bryan is still learning," said Liberty U-24 manager Rio Bavin. "The sky's the limit for him."
