The Kennesaw Jets could not turn a fine performance from pitcher John Baker into a win. Instead, the Eugene Vandals prevailed, 4-3. Baker threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Picking up the save was Kent Church, his 1st. The Vandals improved to 15-16.

Li-ping Niu had a big 3-run home run for the Vandals in the bottom of the third inning. With Eugene trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from John Baker, who is tied for 7th in the PA in innings pitched with 46.2, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Vandals on top, 4-2.

Kennesaw manager Roberto Ríos said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
