Commodores Suffer 2-1 Road Loss
The Yinzers grabbed a win, 2-1, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Put-In-Bay pitcher Wynn Jackson. Jackson went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Byron Purglove claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 1-1. The save went to Milo Church, number 2 for him.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Yinzers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when pinch hitter Pancho Trujillo hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jay Keirl and made the score 2-1, Yinzers. Trujillo was 1 for 1.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Monroeville skipper Todd Hunter.

The win for the Yinzers lifted their record to 18-16.
