Dingwell Mashes 2 Homers in 4-1 Eugene Win
|
The Eugene Vandals stopped the Newmarket Rogues, 4-1, behind an impressive performance from Kelly Dingwell. The 22-year old center fielder made life miserable for Newmarket pitching. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Eugene pitcher Ben Watkins got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Porter Brown got the loss. The current losing streak for Newmarket has reached 5 games.
Eugene grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Dingwell hit a 2-run home run off Porter Brown. His 2nd home run of the season put the Vandals out in front, 2-0.
"Winning is always a team effort," Dingwell said after the game.
