Hermit Crabs Score Late, Topple Crawdads, 2-1

Cut Off got a big-time effort from pitcher Richard Turner, but it wasn't enough to keep the Huntington Hermit Crabs from winning the game, 2-1. Turner threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Timothy Hess earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 4 innings. His record is now 1-1. Earning his 8th save for Huntington was Christian Sandoval.
Eric Conley, who is tied for 3rd in the PA in home runs with 7, contributed to the Huntington win with a solo home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"The more wins we pile up," said Conley, "the more I like our chances."
