Herons Lose Late, 5-2

Joe Casey had a strong outing for the Cut Off Crawdads against the Holy City Herons at Mango Yard. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Michael Wilson, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Will Gordon earned the save for Cut Off, his 13th.
Cut Off used the clutch hitting of Arturo Prieto to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Casey.
The setback makes Holy City 14-22.
