Tula Win at Put-In-Bay, 7-2

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Chicago Tula and Put-In-Bay Commodores.
The Chicago Tula racked up a win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, bumping off the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 7-2. Boudewijn Vervoort, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Vervoort, now 3-3, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Dwaine Louch to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Tula ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The vibe's good," said Chicago manager José Ortega. "We've got to keep it going."
The first-place Tula have won 4 straight.
