Losing Trend Continues for Newmarket
|
The Yinzers grabbed a win, 5-3, at Rogues Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Newmarket pitcher Simak Vehuny. Vehuny went 5.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The losses continue to add up for Newmarket, having now dropped 9 straight.
Monroeville used a well-timed hit by Pete Zahut to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Zahut said after the game.
