Reapers Take Down Herons, 6-1
|
The Grim Reapers stymied the Holy City Herons, 6-1, at Mango Yard. Bill Brown had a good day at the plate. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 for Grim. Graeme Boucher, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held the Herons to 1 run on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Grim's record now stands at 18-20, placing them 7th in the Premier A.
In the top of the fifth, with Grim leading 3-1, Marcus Holmes hit a curveball from Carlos Balderas for a run-scoring single, giving the Reapers the lead, 4-1.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Brown told the Grim Today.
