Cut Off Absorbs 2-1 Loss to Newmarket
|
Newmarket Rogues starter Tae-kyun Hong turned in an exceptional performance against the Cut Off Crawdads at Crawdads Field, resulting in a Newmarket win, 2-1. Hong yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-2. Bobby Spears recorded his 10th save for Newmarket.
The Rogues got a big hit from second baseman Tony Rosales. Facing Cut Off pitcher George Johnston in the top of the fifth, Rosales pounded a solo home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season put the Rogues ahead, 2-0.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Rosales.
With the win, the Rogues improved to 19-20.
