Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Newmarket Rogues got the win.

Newmarket pitcher George Betchley had a large part in his team subduing the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Newmarket reliever Nick Elliott picked up the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jay Keirl was tagged with the loss.

Newmarket used the clutch hitting of Tom Grimes to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rogues ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.

Grimes called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The win gives the Rogues a record of 10-31.
