Delmarva Loses, 5-2, in 10
|
The Alaskan Bush Pilots needed 10 innings to beat the Delmarva Gallos, 5-2, at The Cage. The win was due in part to second baseman Dave Adams, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lonnie Baldazo earned the save for Alaskan, his 1st. Alaskan now sits at 16-26, while Delmarva falls to 21-21.
Had Adams not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Adams hit a 3-run home run. The Bush Pilots took the lead, 5-2, and never looked back.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Adams told a Alaskan Bulletin reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
