The Cut Off Crawdads got a good effort from starter Tom Phillips in defeating the Monroeville Yinzers at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Phillips, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Diego Ramírez closed it out for Cut Off, earning his 1st save.
Les Phillips had a direct impact on the outcome. Phillips contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Cut Off up, 2-0.
Monroeville manager Todd Hunter said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Cut Off win streak is now 3 games.
