Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Ulbert Solleveld, who is tied for 3rd in the PA in doubles with 11, the South Beach Blaze defeated the Delmarva Gallos, 4-1. Manny Sexton earned the save for South Beach, his 11th of the year. The Blaze lead the Premier A by 3 games.
Julius Hicks went 1 for 4 for South Beach. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Hicks had a clutch at-bat. Facing Delmarva hurler Josh Simms, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Blaze a 1-0 lead.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Hicks.
