Crawdads Fall to Jets Late

The Kennesaw Jets topped the Cut Off Crawdads, 5-3, in USPL Single A action at Crawdads Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kennesaw pitcher Eric Jenkins. The winner was Tommy Smith in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Carlos Fidge took the loss. David Arnold earned the save for Kennesaw, his 7th of the year.
Mark Jarvis, who is tied for 10th in the PA in RBI with 24, had a timely hit in the top of the eighth inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Kennesaw catcher hit a run-scoring single. That put the Jets in front, 3-2.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Jenkins. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
The win puts Kennesaw at 25-23 this season.
