Eugene got a decent performance from pitcher Brian McDaniel, but it wasn't enough to beat the Grim Reapers. Grim won the The Coffin contest, 3-2. McDaniel threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Grim reliever Jen-djieh Li picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Brian McDaniel absorbed the loss. Jeff Forrest collected save number 18.
The Reapers got an important contribution from first baseman Robinson Guerrero, who in the bottom of the second hit a sinker to left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Reapers ahead, 3-1.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Eugene manager José Cervantes.
With the win, Grim has a record of 31-19. Eugene falls to 16-34.
