Jets Drop Bush Pilots, 4-3
|
The Kennesaw Jets did just enough to sneak past the Alaskan Bush Pilots, 4-3, at Bush Pilots Park. Kennesaw pitcher John Baker, in particular, had a standout performance. In 7.2 innings, Baker surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Jets saw their record improve to 25-25.
Kennesaw used the bat of John Curry to get the win. The left fielder spanked a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Jets ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Baker told the Kennesaw Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
