Jets Get Past Put-In-Bay for 4-3 Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Put-In-Bay Commodores at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Kennesaw pitcher John Baker held his own in the contest. The winning pitcher was Baker, now 4-6. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. With the win, the Jets have a record of 27-26.
Kennesaw used the timely hitting of Yoshinori Murakami to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jets on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"John set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Kennesaw manager Roberto Ríos.
