Commodores Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Put-In-Bay Commodores went home winners at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Donald Huffman. Huffman stifled the Kennesaw Jets, enabling Put-In-Bay to grab the 2-1 win. The winner in relief was Darryl Brady. He is now 3-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Jets, at 17-36, have lost 5 in a row.
Kyushichi Suzuki drove in one run for Put-In-Bay. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Suzuki had a clutch at-bat. Facing Kennesaw hurler Marlon Henderson, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Commodores a 2-1 lead.
"We put together a nice win," Suzuki said.
