Stanley Rowe pitched a gem to lead Chicago to victory over the South Beach Blaze, 4-1. In 7 innings, Rowe surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Greg Kirkpatrick picked up his 17th save of the season.
Francisco López went 1-3 with a walk for Chicago. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, López had a clutch at-bat. Facing South Beach hurler Dani Rodríguez, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Tula a 2-1 lead.
"This is a very good team," said López. "We have the chance to do something special."
The first-place Tula have a one-game lead in their division.
