Pontiac Hot Streak Continues with 5-4 Win
Grim left fielder Tenho Rautee had a good game, even if his team did not. The Reapers dropped a 5-4 decision to Pontiac at Pontiac Copperdome. Rautee went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Adam Smith went 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander struck out 2 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 4-2 this season. The 5th-place Godfathers have won 8 straight.

Logan Burdett had a big solo home run for the Godfathers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Pontiac leading 4-3 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Manuel Muñóz and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Godfathers on top, 5-3.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan. "But we decided not to take it."
