Extra-Inning Win by Crawdads Over Arryns
|
Lake Erie got a terrific performance from pitcher Zebulon Pike, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cut Off Crawdads. Cut Off won the Arryns Ballpark contest, 4-1. Pike threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Cut Off reliever Manuel Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. John Terry took the loss. Tai sun Huo closed the door for Cut Off, picking up his 7th save of the year.
Cut Off used a clutch hit from Fernando Mezzatesta to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Mezzatesta.
At 36-21, Cut Off is in third place in the Premier A.
