The Beaumont Crossbeaus inaugurated their 2062 season with a tough 5-4 loss to the Fort Knox Centennial at The Target. Starting Pitcher Jacob Wirt had perhaps the best performance for Fort Knox. Adam Weijman, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Jody Ross picked up the save, his 1st.

Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Martín Rodríguez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Jacob gave us a heck of an effort," said Fort Knox manager Michael Malloy.
