Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Crowley Cajuns home opener. José Heredia started for the home team against Edgar O'Curran for the Germantown Uruguayans. The Cajuns were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-1, Germantown. José Heredia, though, was impressive.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bailey Sharp? The 19-year old right fielder Sharp stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Germantown up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

Germantown manager Jamie Scott called it "a darn good win."
