Potter Pitches Gem as Uruguayans Beat Amarillo, 1-0

Sam Potter led the Germantown Uruguayans to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Amarillo Warheads at Ballpark of Albuquerque today.
"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Potter recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."
Potter yielded 1 hit and had 14 strikeouts and 2 walks in the standout performance.
"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Amarillo manager José López said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

Injury Sidelines Thatcher Howard for Season

Doctors in Germantown said Thatcher Howard might not play anymore this year. The Uruguayans starting pitcher suffered an arthritic elbow during a game against the Amarillo Warheads and will be out for at least 4-5 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
