Puffer Fish Win at Home, 4-2

Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish were eager to watch Vern Peña square off against Peter Harris of the visiting Tulsa Otters. In the end, the Puffer Fish won the game, 4-2, with Vern Peña leading the way. Mark Moore closed it out for Plattsburgh, earning his 1st save.
Robbie Gingerich had a big 2-run home run for the Puffer Fish in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Plattsburgh trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Peter Harris and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Puffer Fish on top, 2-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Gingerich told the Plattsburgh Citizen.
