Reapers Reel In 2-0 Win
|
Walla Walla got a terrific performance from pitcher Gilberto Barrón, but it wasn't enough to beat the Grim Reapers. Grim won the Walleye Tank contest, 2-0. Barrón threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Jeff Forrest nailed down his 20th save. With the win, Grim pushed its record to 35-24.
Grim used the timely hitting of Eric Giles to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reapers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan.
