Jets Tag Rogues with 5-3 Loss
|
At Rogues Stadium, the Newmarket Rogues and Kennesaw Jets were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Kennesaw left-hander Glenn Murphy pitched his team to victory over the Newmarket Rogues at Rogues Stadium. The final score was 5-3. Murphy got the win, improving to 6-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs.
Kennesaw used a clutch at-bat from Tim Hutchinson to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Jets ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Hutchinson told the Kennesaw News.
The 8th-place Jets improved to 27-32.
