Flamingos Snatch Late Win
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos had to overcome a good performance from Colorado pitcher Chaz Michael-Michaels to claim a 2-0 win at The Strip. Michael-Michaels went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Las Vegas reliever Elton Ray picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Pete Scott took the loss. The loss puts Colorado at 9-10.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Richard Clift came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Colorado pitcher Pete Scott, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Las Vegas on top, 2-0.
"We did just enough to win," Clift said.
