Octopi Suffer 4-3 Loss to Rams

Fans watched the Ladue Rams and the Ogallala Octopi fight to the finish.
The Ogallala Octopi got a sterling performance from pitcher Allen Wagner, but the Ladue Rams still prevailed, 4-3. Wagner threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Umberto Erkelens. His record is now 1-0. The right-hander went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Rams. Mario González locked down his 1st save.
In the top of the sixth inning, Orlando Ramírez contributed a big hit for the Rams. With Ladue trailing 2-0, he hammered a 2-run home run.
"I was a little disappointed," said Ogallala manager Félix Cruz. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Rams raised their record to 2-0.
