Bush Pilots Suffer 5-2 Road Loss
The Newmarket Rogues dealt the Alaskan Bush Pilots a 5-2 loss at Rogues Stadium. Bing-zhang Fan was the star on offense. He belted 2 home runs. Tae-kyun Hong got the win, improving to 4-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Newmarket goes to 26-35, Alaskan to 24-37.

Terry Smart had a big solo home run for the Rogues in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Newmarket leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Steven Cowan and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Rogues on top, 4-2.

Smart told a Newmarket Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
