The Germantown Uruguayans downed the Memphis Music, 6-5, at Ballpark of Albuquerque. The Uruguayans were led by John Curry. Curry went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Uruguayans raised their record to 2-1.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Germantown. That's when 21-year old shortstop Carlos Villegas hit a run-scoring double off Carlos Hana to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Villegas.
