The Eugene Vandals faced a tough opponent in Kennesaw pitcher Luis Yánez, but still scratched out a win at The Riot Zone by a final score of 1-0 in 10 innings. Yánez went 9 innings and allowed no runs. With the win, the Vandals improved to 29-33.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Eugene pinch hitter José Meléndez, facing Simon Foster, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Vandals the 1-0 win.

"It was bedlam at the end," Meléndez said.
