Streaking Crawdads Win Another One, 5-1
|
The Cut Off Crawdads defeated the Eugene Vandals, 5-1. Right Fielder Manuel Noguerola deserved a large share of the credit. Noguerola was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Crawdads. Mike Hayes got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. The winning continues for Cut Off, with the latest triumph making it 9 straight.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fifth when Noguerola hit a run-scoring single. It thrust the Crawdads into the lead, 2-1.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Noguerola after the game.
