Rybnik Swings Centennial to 6-3 Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial beat the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 6-3, at Plattsburgh Park. Vladya Rybnik, who is rated as the 60th best prospect by BNN, starred for Fort Knox. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Joe Blamey was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. At 4-0, the Centennial have played well so far.
Rybnik had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 fastball from Víctor Martínez, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Centennial a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Rybnik.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Rybnik told the Fort Knox Daily News.
