Hot Start Continues for Liberty
Philadelphia and Mexico City duked it out and the Liberty came out victorious.

The Philadelphia Liberty got a marvelous performance from pitcher Bobby Johnson. The right-hander kept the Mexico City offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Philadelphia victory at Liberty Park. Picking up the save was Jorge Montoya, his 3rd.

Bryan Spilsbury had a big 2-run double for the Liberty in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Philadelphia leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from Tom Johnston, who finished 4th in the SL in innings pitched with 153.1 in 2059, and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Liberty ahead, 4-1.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt.

The Blue Demons, 9-11, continue their sluggish start to the 2062 campaign.
