Rhinos Down Uruguayans, 2-1
|
The Zoo played host to some real drama.
Morie Wada pitched a gem to lead Redwood to victory over the Germantown Uruguayans, 2-1, in 10 innings. Dennis Jones picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ronald Montés suffered the loss.
Redwood got a knockout punch from Bill Coleman. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Coleman.
The victory makes Redwood 4-2.
