Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Hounds
|
Hicksville Hounds starter Gilberto Cruz hurled his team past the Ladue Rams, 5-2. With the loss, Ladue falls to 5-1.
Had James Bell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bell hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Hounds.
"Nice to get this one," said Bell. "Wins have been hard to come by."
