Cattlemen Rally Late to Nip Grey Wolves
|
Ft. Worth beat Vancouver at The Cattle Pen, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Damian García. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Joe Jenkins earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The Cattlemen, with only their 6th win in 21 games, could be the worst team in the league.
Lee Spencer, who is tied for 10th in the SL in extra base hits with 10, came through for Ft. Worth with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. The center fielder went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 RBI.
"I was a little disappointed," said Vancouver manager David Krause. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
