Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Justin Welch the Kennesaw Jets defeated the South Beach Blaze, 4-2. Kennesaw reliever Robby McIntyre got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Mark Moss was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Jets upped their record to 37-30.

With Kennesaw trailing 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Welch hit a cutter from Mark Moss for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Jets ahead, 4-2.

When asked about his performance after the game, Welch said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
