The Put-In-Bay Commodores got a stellar effort from pitcher Arturo Santos, helping Put-In-Bay score a win over the visiting Delmarva Gallos, 4-2, in 10 innings. The Commodores, at 34-34, sit in 4th place in the Premier A.
Put-In-Bay got a clutch hit from Jeff Hoover. The pinch hitter launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Félix Martínez.
