Commodores Knock Off Hermit Crabs, 3-1
|
The Put-In-Bay Commodores used a great performance from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Yura Kabyshev to beat the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 3-1, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Lu-po-teh Fong, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Bhu Aguillo earned the save for Put-In-Bay, his 1st.
Emmanuele Mazzon drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for Put-In-Bay. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Mazzon delivered for the Commodores. His run-scoring walk put Put-In-Bay on top, 2-1.
"Yura's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Put-In-Bay manager José Trejo.
The Commodores now have a record of 22-47.
