Fort Knox Rallies for 4-2 Victory
|
The Fort Knox Centennial got a strong performance from pitcher George Young, who stymied the Hudsonville offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Ballpark of Baxter. Reliever Adam Weijman picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Fa-tang Xiong took the loss. The save was credited to Jody Ross, his 3rd.
Ricardo López went 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI against the Flanderses. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Fort Knox in front, 3-2.
"I like what I saw today," said Fort Knox manager Michael Malloy, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Fort Knox is now 7-1.
