Mockingbirds Dealt 2-0 Loss
|
The Philadelphia Liberty claimed a close win over the Memphis Mockingbirds, due in large part to Al Ivey. The Philadelphia left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Ivey got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. With the win, Philadelphia climbs to 9-12.
Oliver Ortega, who is tied for 9th in the SL in RBI with 12, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ortega contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"Al made the big pitches when he needed to," said Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt.
