Kennesaw Nets 4-3 Win Versus Rogues
|
Newmarket wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Don Alistair, falling to the Kennesaw Jets, 4-3. Alistair threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Kennesaw reliever Trent Harris picked up the win to move to 1-0. Bobby Spears suffered the loss. Ray Peck earned the save for Kennesaw.
Kennesaw used the hitting of Yoshinori Murakami to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jets on top, 4-3. For the game, Murakami had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Murakami called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The 5th-place Jets sport a record of 34-36.
