There was no shortage of dramatics at Put-In-Bay Ballpark.
Lake Erie got a big-time effort from pitcher Jesse Simmons, but it wasn't enough to keep the Put-In-Bay Commodores from winning the game, 3-2. Simmons threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Put-In-Bay has a record of 31-39, placing them 7th in the Premier A.
The decisive blow was delivered by Choong-suk Yun in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Vern Huffman to win the game for Put-In-Bay. The home crowd went nuts.
Put-In-Bay manager José Trejo called it "a good, solid win."
